Îí – ñàìûé ïîïóëÿðíûé àñòðîíàâò íà Çåìëå, èçâåñòíûé áîëüøå ÷åì Ãàãàðèí, Àðìñòðîíã è Ãëåíí âìåñòå âçÿòûå. Îí áûë ïåðâûì ÷åëîâåêîì íà ëóíå è îòêðûë äëÿ ÷åëîâå÷åñòâà äîðîãó ê çâåçäàì. 3000 ëåò íàçàä Ïåððè Ðîäàí ïîñàäèë ñâîé Stardust íà îäíó èç ëóí Ñàòóðíà è âïåðâûå â èñòîðèè ÷åëîâå÷åñòâà âñòðåòèë èíóþ êîñìè÷åñêóþ ðàñó - àðêîíèäîâ. Îíè ñäåëàëè Ïåððè áåññìåðòíûì è âðó÷èëè â åãî ðóêè ñóäüáó Òåððàíà.
Ñîáûòèÿ èãðû ðàçâîðà÷èâàþòñÿ â 1346 ãîäó (4934 ïî-ñòàðîìó ñ÷èñëåíèþ), ïîñëå òîãî êàê ñòðàøíûé âçðûâ ïîòðÿñ ñðåäîòî÷èå ñèëû Òåððàíîâ, à ïîäðóãó Ïåððè, Ìîíäðó Äàéìîíä ïîõèòèë áîåâîé ðîáîò. Ìèíèñòð áåçîïàñíîñòè Ëèãè, âìåñòî òîãî, ÷òîáû ïîìî÷ü ñëàâíîìó âîèíó, çàïèðàåò åãî íà àäìèíèñòðàòèâíîì óðîâíå. Òàì, â êàáèíåòå Ìîíäðû, Ïåððè íàõîäèò çàïèñè î ðàñå Èëëîõèì. Âî âñåëåííîé ôàíòàñòè÷åñêîé ñàãè, êîòîðàÿ ïóáëèêóåòñÿ ñ íà÷àëà 1960õ: áîëåå 2400 íîâåëë ðàçíûõ àâòîðîâ (à òàêæå ôèëüì Mission Stardust (1967), ìóçûêàëüíûå àëüáîìû, ïîñâÿù¸ííûå Ïåððè, è ìíîãîå äðóãîå).  íàïèñàíèè ñöåíàðèÿ ó÷àñòâóþò ñîâðåìåííûå àâòîðû íîâåëë î Ïåððè Ðîäàíå íåìåö Ðîáåðò Ôåëäõîô (Robert Feldhoff) è àâñòðèåö Ìèõàýëü Ìàðêóñ Ò¸ðíåð (Michael Marcus Thurner).
