Leo’s hand hovered over the mouse. The episode continued. Baki and Yujiro clashed, fists distorting the air. But in the background—between frames, in the motion-blur—Leo saw something else. A face. Not anime. Real. A man in his forties, gaunt, eyes wide, mouthing words.

He slammed the laptop shut.

Episode 7 didn't have Baki. It had a live feed. A webcam view of a dark room. In the center of the frame, a man sat tied to a chair—the same gaunt face from the keyframes. Behind him stood a figure rendered in jagged, low-bitrate green: a digital entity wearing Yujiro Hanma’s face, but with static for eyes.
