But the "entertainment" was the ritual.

She didn't have a keyboard, so she used her mother’s gentong (water jar) as a drum and a hairbrush as a microphone. This was the golden era lifestyle. It wasn't about streaming or binge-watching. It was scarcity. If you missed the 2 PM showing, you waited a whole week. If the electricity went out (a frequent matikan lampu from PLN), you ran to the neighbor's house who had a generator.
