Meera learns the truth: The “blue film” scandal was a by a rival filmmaker who felt threatened by Rajeshwari’s genius. The “studio fire” was arson. Rajeshwari fled to Pondicherry, where she ran a small tea shop and died in 1999—unrecognized. Part Five: Legacy Meera premieres the restored Bhuvaneswari not in a festival, but in the Bhuvaneswari Talkies —on its last night before demolition.
